There have been a lot of attempts at fishing games over the years but none have them have really delivered that "Real Fishing Experience." The Nintendo Wii is the perfect gaming system to create the perfect fishing game and I have finally found that game. The game is called The Strike and is made by Bass Pro Shops. It is a freshwater fishing adventure that takes you through 10 different lakes, each with its own unique scenery and fish. Each lake has a tournament in which you compete to catch 5 of the biggest fish in a given amount of time. After you win all the tournaments you unlock the Bass Pro Invitational which is a 5 day fishing tournament. Each lake has a "Legendary Fish" which is a storied fish that no one can seem to catch. The games loading screens will tell you all about these mystical fish and there stories which is a really cool and exciting feature of the game. The coolest part of this game is the fishing controller the game comes with. It is like a real fishing rod, it has a reel and a pole. You cast just like you would in real life and you jerk, reel, and move your lure around the water trying to get that big fish to strike. Once you pull up on the controller to hook the fish you have to reel it in. Some of the big fish can have you fighting them for 5-10 minutes. This game is so much fun and even if you don't like fishing I think you'd like this game. Catch the big one in your living room!
