After years of wearing Yardley’s English Lavender Refreshing Body Spray, I tried the English Rose. It was a gift from my sister. The fact that Yardley is a brand I trust, I didn’t think twice before using it. The English Rose has a nostalgic fragrance that’s as classic as the name itself.
Yardley of London is an old name in the industry and the range of body sprays have been speaking for themselves since 1770. I have used other products of Yardley’s body sprays, English Lavender being my all time favourite. The English Rose is certainly close if not at par. Sweet, gentle and nostalgic, it exudes more of a celebration spirit.
The body spray comes in an aerosol metal can. It is a look alike of the other English deodorants but with a different color. This one has a baby pink hue which is simplistically designed providing, probably, a greater charm than the other varieties. The 200 ml e 6.8 fl oz 3 cylinder is priced reasonably at 11.5$ and lasts for about 6-7 hours, which is less than the English Lavender. It also requires more sprays than the English Lavender, and that makes it last for lesser time too. I had used up the 200 ml can in much lesser time even when I was using it less frequently. Obviously, you need it more than other English body spray products.
The ingredients, as it read on the cylinder, include alcohol denat, butane, isobutane, aqua, propane, parfum, citronellol, geraniol, eugenol, benzyl benzoate, benzyl alcohol etc. Even though, I never had any kind of irritability whatsoever, do not use this if you are sensitive to alcohol. Yardley has been gentle and soothing on my skin. I have used it on bare shower fresh skin and never felt any kind of discomfort. It is a good size to carry along in your purse, especially, if you are travelling for the whole day. The pack does read that it is safe for everyday use.
Check for the original Yardley icon on the bottle before buying. The fake English Rose body sprays are hard to tell from the original. But if you are using Yardley for many years, you could by the strong synthetic fragrance and the subsequent skin eruptions (if you have very sensitive skin).
The English Rose has a classic fragrance. It is light, slightly floral, not overpowering. It makes an excellent gift for those who have fascination for good perfumes. I, for one, would certainly love to receive it as a gift any day.
