Last weekend, my husband & sister & I went to Panama City Beach in Florida for a short weekend vacation. We had booked us a room in the Celedon Beach Resort on the west end of Panama City Beach. This resort is really pretty. When you arrive, you pull up into the small driveway in front, check-in and then drive across the street to the covered garage parking area. There is a covered walkway on the second floor that takes you across to the main condominiums. Once across, you can access the elevators as well as get a good sized luggage cart to transport all your luggage to your room.
We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit that overlooked the Gulf of Mexico. The views were stunning from our large balcony, which had an entrance from both the living room & master bedroom. Each condo unit is in the shotgun style so every unit has a view of the ocean. Our unit, along with the 2br, 2ba, also had a fully stocked kitchen, nice sized living room, extra bonus bedroom with twin bed, laundry room and walk-in closets in both bedrooms. We had unit # 1102.
Our only complaints were that the DVD player in the living room didn't work and the ice maker in door of the fridge didn't work. Also, because we were on the west end of the beach, if you tried to drive down Front Beach Road to get to anywhere, traffic was always horrible and it took forever to get anywhere. But once we learned our way around town, we quickly learned other ways to get where we needed to go that was much quicker.
Other than that, everything was great. At check-in, each of the women in our group, got a free samples bag that had a free razor, deoderant and a couple other samples. For the guy in our group, he got some candy. Also, at one point in our trip, we rented an electric beach wheelchair for my husband who can't walk so that he could go out on the beach and the staff were very accomodating to us. Anytime we needed to store it, we just called up maintenance and they locked it up for us and were willing to get it out for us as any time.
Both pools at the resort were really nice. One pool was right below the resort and overlooked the beach. The other pool was across the street by the parking garage. It was both an indoor & outdoor pool in that you could start indoors and swim under plastic curtains to get to the outdoor part, or you could walk out the doors and relax in the sun by the pool. Also by the pool was the exercise gym and additional bathrooms with showers.
