A few years ago I bought Chanel Black Satin nailpolish, it was very difficult to get your hands on, it was sold out everywhere before it even hit the stores! I was lucky enough to be working in the department so I was able to get one! I remember in the 1990s I was in love with Chanel Vamp polish, it was my favorite polish, I saved up all my babysitting money to buy one, it was my first department store brand product, and I loved it, not to mention it was Chanel!
So I couldn't wait to get what was sure to be my new favorite Chanel polish, Black Satin. I seen in ads in every magazine, every celebrity was wearing the shade, it was everywhere. So, when I finally got mine, I couldn't wait to get home and try it on!
The color is a deep real black, not glossy, and you will see little scratch marks on it if not careful. I did apply base and top coat. I loved the color, loved that it was more matte than glossy.
Hated that by the end of the day I already had to touch up, and the next morning had to reapply another coat! While I was sleeping, somehow this polish chipped so bad! There is no lasting power at all to this! I don't remember Vamp being such poor quality like Black Satin! I have since tried other brands in black, and find that the drugstore brands are much longer lasting! Sally Hansen Salon lasts FOREVER, and is actually difficult to get off, Avon Warm Black is also long lasting. I still like looking at the bottle on my vanity though lol!
