Does a sunscreen from the dollar store work as well as the expensive brands? In my opinion, it sure does.
We purchased our first bottle of Max Block Sunscreen before one of our cruises last year, and we loved it. When we got home, I went back to Dollar Tree get a few more bottles but they were sold out. When I saw it in stock again this year, I purchased several bottles so I have plenty on hand when we need it.
Max Block is a sport sunscreen so it is water and sweat resistant. It comes in a compact 4 oz. bottle with a pump spray top that is easy to apply. The spray puts on a nice even coat that you then rub into your skin. The bottle is the perfect size to pack in a beach bag and even though it's smaller than many of the name brands, it manages to last us through our whole vacation. It's so easy to use, my 8-year-old can do it himself before he heads to the pool. It has an SPF of 30, has Aloe Vera and offers both UVA and UVB protection. It's not greasy, absorbs quickly into the skin and has a light coconut scent.
We used this sunscreen on two cruises last year, as well as many trips to the pool. We really put it to the test a few weeks ago when we went rafting and were in the sun, in 95 degree heat, for over 2 hours straight. We were sweating like crazy, as well as wet from the water, and I told my husband that I really hoped the sunscreen did not fail us, because we would have been burned badly by the time we got home. We were pleasantly surprised that we barely had even a tan line to show for being out all day. While I would have liked to have seen a little tan, having little to none was way better than being burned and miserable.
I love this sunscreen spray and for the price, it's a great deal. When I run out again, I will be surely picking up a few more.
