I am a hair and make up junkie, always looking for the best product, so be assured I have LOTs of experience with product to back this up. In the past, I’ve tried everything from expensive products like Phyto and Frederick Fekkai, to niche products like Terax, to main stream product like Redken and Paul Mitchell, to cheap products like Suave and Alberto V05.
I used Redkin All Soft shampoo and conditioner for years, but still would try the occasional other product if lured my savvy marketing. Recently, I decided to try the Chi brand, a line of hair products formulated by the maker of my flat iron. The Chi flat iron has been the best hair styling tool I’ve ever owned. While very expensive ($200), I’ve had mine for about four years. I works wonders, and nothing has ever left my hair so shiny and sleek.
The Chi Shampoo is formulated to protect hair against the rigors of daily hot styling, and it definitely lives up to its promise. The shampoo is incredibly moisturizing, and leaves a film on the hair that keeps it from drying or breaking. Indeed, my hair has never looked as good, and the shampoo works so well on frizz, I find myself using less of my hot iron to achieve that sleek look. For instance, where I used to flat iron my whole head, now I only do the under part, the hair right around my face and a few strips on top. This works wonders because my hair keeps great movement and body, while still having that incredible straight-hair shine.
I also like the fragrance of this product, and the price is reasonable at $12. My only reservations about this product are it is probably too heavy for anyone with limp, flat or very oily hair. It also doesn’t lather a whole lot, so those who like that squeaky-clean feel in their hair would probably prefer another shampoo.
