Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder is the first in the Hannah Swenson series by Joanne Fluke. I had a very hard time finding this book in my area for some reason. I checked at the big name bookstores, my local library and all of the libraries in the surrounding areas. Finally I remembered a small local used book store, I checked there but they didn't have it either! They were able to find a used copy for me. After several weeks of waiting I got an email saying the book was in.
This book is not only entertaining, but it also gives the reader a chance to begin getting to know the characters. Of course as the title implies, there is a murder of the local dairy deliveryman and Hannah, the main character not only discovers his body in the alley, but also that the unfortunate Ron happened to be enjoying a few of her Chocolate Chip Cookies when he met his death!
As Hannah and one of her sisters begin to ask questions and uncover clues they discover another local man has been murdered.
Hannah works with her brother in law, who is a sheriff to uncover clues and eventually she solves the mystery.
This book left me guessing who the killer was until the end, and I must admit, this book was well worth the wait! After reading the first book in this series it inspired me to not only seek out the following books for my collection but also for my reading pleasure again!
I love the Hannah Swenson series, the stories are entertaining and cute and I like the characters and the small town setting of the stories. I would recommend this series to anyone who likes a good mystery!
An added bonus of this series is not only are the stories great, but you will also find great recipes following some of the chapters!
