I love the holiday times and ever since I tried my first Ferrero Garden Coconut Confections, years ago, I normally would buy the little 3 pack in the checkout aisle. That is, until they stopped carrying them in my local stores in Orlando, where I used to live. I finally tracked them down at a local Walgreens and even though I could not find a holiday pack, I settled for the little 3 packs again.
If you've never tried any of the Ferrero chocolates, your best bet is to go buy the Ferrero Chocolate Collection that is packaged in a very nice diamond looking plastic box, and available at your local Wal-Mart for just around $9. This assortment gives you all 3 types of chocolates they make. There is my favorite, the Ferrero Garden Coconut that has a creamy coconut center with an almond in the middle and surrounded by a wafer and dipped in tiny little coconut flakes; and then my next favorite (maybe even a tie), is the Ferrero Rondnoir - which is also a round wafer with a dark chocolate cream center and then it's surrounded by tiny dark chocolate crunchy pieces. The most popular chocolate in the collection is the Ferrero Rocher which has a whole hazelnut in the center surrounded by chocolate then encased in a crunchy wafer and dipped in mik chocolate and topped with pieces of hazelnuts.
All of these candies are uniquely wrapped and great for holiday parties or for your personal stash. Personally, I like to hide mine because everyone eats them too fast.
The Ferrero Chocolate Collection in the square diamond box makes a great gift too. So if you are a chocolate lover, give them a try. But you may find that you like the Ferrero Garden Coconut the best too.
If you visit their website at http://www.ferrerochocolatesusa.com/ - you an actually enter for a chance to win a case of Ferrero chocolates. They are giving away a case each month and you can be sure my entry is in.
They also have a Facebook fan page.
After all, can you really ever have enough chocolate? I think not.
Update On Apr 07, 2010: Great News! Wal-Mart has these back in stock by the registers. Most stores should be set up the same. They have each of these in their own boxes, so you can have all of one flavor. I will be going back for the chocolate ones. Bought too many Peanut Butter Eggs that were half price this time around :)
