One of my wonderful grandchildren, Becca, is in eighth grade. She's not about frilly things at all. She like to wear hoodies and jeans. AND her favorite shoes are Converse Chucks. She likes the low tops best.
This Christmas, all she wanted was the neon green, low-top Chucks. The first place I looked was at Converse.com where I did find them (yay!), but (ouch!) they were $49.00! So then I looked all around town and all over the world wide web, but either they didn't have her size, they didn't have low-tops, or they were priced even higher.
I didn't really want to spend that much on a pair of "tennis" shoes, but I ordered them anyway, because I wanted to make Becca happy.
It was very disappointing to receive an email two weeks later, saying that they were back ordered - especially since it was just a week away from Christmas by this time. At the time I ordered them, they were supposedly in stock.
I had to print a picture of the shoes and wrap it up so I had something to give her on Christmas day. And even though they weren't here yet, she was super excited. So when they finally did come, she was a happy, happy girl. She loves those shoes and says they are comfortable. They look cute with her outfits, too. She says her Chucks were the best gift she received for Christmas.
