A great game that I had as a child, and now I can play it with my 4 year old! Chutes and Ladders is a fun game to play with your kids. I like it because it doesn't require any reading- you spin a number and move spaces on the game board. If you land on a space with a ladder, you climb higher on the board. Land on a chute, however, and you slide backwards to the bottom of the board. The first person to reach the top of the board wins.
Something I like about Chutes and Ladders is that it relates to life lessons, and offers the opportunity to spark up a good conversation with your kids about actions and consequences.
This game has been great to introduce my son to some number recognition, since each square is marked from 1-100. I think it may be difficult for kids to follow which direction they are supposed to move sometimes; each row alternates between moving towards the right and left, which confuses my son sometimes.
The quality of the board is good, as well as the pieces so far, and we have played many times. I look forward to many more; this is a wonderful rainy day activity for my family, and I am sure it will be for yours too!
