When I heard that Disney had decided to make a Cinderella 3, I was more than skeptical. I thought, "Wow, they really are running out of material, aren't they?" I hadn't given Cinderella 2 a shot, and from what I heard, I was glad of that. But, because this house can get pretty obsessed with Cinderella (Grandpa is actually the most obsessed), and it sounded like it had a fairly interesting story line, I decided to give it a go.
I was thoroughly impressed! No one will ever be able to capture the piercing voice that the original actress gave to Lady Tremaine (Cinderella's wicked step mother) in the first film. But, other than that, this was a hit in my house.
The story line revolves around Lady Tremaine stealing the Fairy Godmother's wand, and turning back the hands of time, enabling her to complete her original mission of getting into the palace, and destroying Cinderella's future. From there, it just gets more interesting, sweet, and fun.
It's a great movie for any Cinderella fan, and manages to capture a great deal of the magic the first movie brought into our (young) lives.
