When my family decided to plan a 3 day trip to the Las Vegas strtip, we could think of no better place to take our family than the Circus Circus Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Being Las Vegas residents, we rarely visit the strip and wanted a family friendly environment for our vacation. What we found was great reason never to visit the strip again.

The Circus Circus Hotel and Casino is not the best hotel available to travelers by far. This end of the strip location markets itself as a family oriented, circus themed adventure. The cirus theme is right, family-friendly? NOT SO MUCH!

The atmosphere of the Circus Circus Hotel and Casino matches the theme. WIth a midway available with carnival style games and a rotating circus act, kids love the fun. But, as parents, we certainly saw all of the flaws.

The circus act offered long waiting times and very short shows. The carnival midway was way over-priced, even for Las Vegas and the old time Vegas style of the casino offered little or no flexiblity for parents traveling with children.

Many of the newer Las Vegas hotels and casinos offer walkways considered child safe (meaning kids can use them without violating the gambling laws). The Circus Circus Hotel and Casino does not offer these walkways. To make your way through the casinos (which are everywhere) you have to literally take your children by the hand and briskly walk to a safe zone. On vacation, I was not trying to rush anything. This not so family friendly side of my casino vacation was not the only downside.

The Circus Circus Hotel and Casino offerrs on site and off site rooms. For increased affordability, we chose the off-site rooms as our destination. The rooms were dirty and in need of major repairs. We quickly complained when the shower fell apart and were moved to the main hotel West Tower.

The West Tower of the Circus Circus Hotel and Casino was maintained much better than the off-site rooms.

The Circus Circus Hotel and Casino may market itself toward kids, but the hotel is in dire need of remodeling and the atmosphere was all Vegas. Money, money, money! I would not go back to the Circus Circus Hotel and Casino even for a free trip!
