Quite possibly the best movie ever made. The grittiness of the camera mixed with the desire in Stallone's voice, eyes and body language, make us belive that he, Rocky Balboa, really wants this shot at the title, and that he actually believes he can win. It has the second best training sequence ever filmed (bested by the fourth Rocky in the series), they really get you in the mood for a run. It makes you root for Rocky in a way that no film does, unless in the Rocky series, of course.

The DVD has some nice features including test footage from 1975 when John G Avildsen was trying to get both Carl Weathers and Sylvester Stallone to act as if they were boxers and to practice the epic finale. The quality of the picture is top drawer, despite being 33 years old. Sound is impeccable, still blasting out that memorable "Gonna Fly Now" tune that we are all so familiar with.

Basically, Rocky is a delight to have in my DVD collection.
