It's true that anti-bacterial soaps are over-used, but sometimes you really need one -- usually when you're away from your home. Bath and Body Works make anti-bacterial hand wipes in most of their signature scents, packed in portable plastic containers. A package holding 25 towelettes cost $4 at the Bath and Body Works store, which often has sales on their anti-bacterial items. The photo shows Warm Sugar Vanilla, my favorite scent.

I use the Bath and Body Works hand wipes on my hands after I have left a public restroom; that way I know that if someone ahead of me didn't wash their hands, I won't have picked anything up from the doorknob. I also use them on the handles of shopping carts and baskets to remove bacteria, or if I've been petting an animal that I'm allergic to. They clean well, and are easy to drop in a waste container when you're done.

I like these wipes better than surface wipes like those made by Lysol and Clorox because these Bath and Body Works wipes contain skin-softening aloe. This is important to me because most cleansers strip my hands of natural oils. I also prefer them to baby wipes, another portable option, because they don't contain lotions that leave my hands feeling too oily. I feel like Goldilocks saying this, but these are just right. And Bath and Body Works offers a huge choice of scents, another plus.

I have two problems with Bath and Body Works Anti-Bacterial Hand Wipes. First, the container, at 4.5 inches high, about 3 inches across, and one inch thick, is just a bit big for some purses, although it fits into my giant purse well enough. The other problem is that when you pull one out, the one right behind it tags along, and often has to be stuffed back down so you can snap the lid closed and keep them moist.

My rating of 4.5 would have been a 5, because of their convenience, reasonable price, and how well they work, but the problem with getting only one wipe out at a time, and the slightly large size, dropped it to a 4.5.
