I love cobalt blue glassware, and these make a beautiful accent on the table.

My dishes are mostly blue onion pattern (Corelle everyday and nicer ones for special) and I like to have some contrast sometimes with cobalt blue glassware. When I saw these in the Miles Kimball catalog I ordered them right away. Since then I’ve even broken the butter dish and replaced it once. (No weakness in the product, but glass doesn’t do well when you drop things on it from great heights!)

The butter dish is fairly heavy, standard size for one stick of spread. It cost $8.99

The salt and pepper shakers are quite large. They cost $9.99 for the set. Each one is 2.25" square and 4.25 inches high. The lid is slightly domed. Due to the size these probably aren’t so great for fancy table settings, but they are nice for everyday use. I do have one complaint about the lids. The holes are a little bit too small, but apparently not so bad that I’ve been willing to do anything about it, like drill them a tiny bit bigger. I like the color so much that I haven’t cared much. They are true cobalt blue... the picture seems to make them look a bit too light.

Miles Kimball also carries a cobalt blue old fashioned sugar dispenser, chicken on a basket candy dish, and a biscuit jar, but I haven’t felt the need to have those.

(And they have the butter dish and salt & pepper set in repro green depression glass.)

There is no indication of a maker, but they come from China.

I’ve been ordering from Miles Kimball since I was a teenager, and my mother before that. They have always been reputable to deal with. Sometimes those catalogs just have stuff you can’t seem to find anywhere else!
