I tend to adore cookbooks that offer a lot more than just recipes. I love cookbooks that give me stories behind the dish. The Comfort Food Cookbook is one such book.
With a little less than 200 pages, this cookbook by Holly Garrison is an absolute gem. Not only does she give me delicious homecooked recipes, but she dishes it out with humor and interesting anecdotes. I really appreciate cookbook authors who tell me a story and make me laugh too.
This cookbook is more of a collection of recipes from Grannys, aunts, friends, and moms. I like the way it is written. I feel like I am getting some treasured family recipes.
The recipes are absolutely sinful! Tasty home cooked meals and killer desserts fill this cookbook. It is one of our favorites. With names like Fried Apple Rings and Instant Relief Fudge, I know I am in for a real treat.
This is a soft cover cookbook. I rated it 3.5 in the photographer section because there are no photos. That is a little disappointing, but for this price and for the amazingly tasty recipes I feel lucky enough to have, I highly recommend the Comfort Food cookbook.
