I was looking for an affordable but nice hotel near my daughter's apartment in Arlington, Virginia. And the best place I've ever found to search for hotels is Hotels.com. At Hotels.com, I could look up the exact location of the nearest hotels in my price range on the map. And I decided to book a weekend at Comfort Inn at the Pentagon because it was within a mile of my daughter's apartment and I could avoid the worst of the Washington, D.C. traffic.
The room at Comfort Inn at the Pentagon was spacious, and it offered closet space where I could hang my clothes. The room came with a small 2-cup coffee maker and several packages of complimentary coffee, which brought a smile to my face because I'm a heavy coffee drinker. Because I booked my room at Comfort Inn at the Pentagon online with a credit card more than two weeks in advance, I also received a full complimentary breakfast buffet that included the hot meal of scrambled eggs, french toast, bacon and sausage along with the cold offerings of donuts, bagels, cereal and fruit that was part of their normal complimentary breakfast. Breakfast in the downstairs restaurant was a real treat that I took full advantage of.
Comfort Inn at the Pentagon is a little tough to find. It doesn't sit right on the main road, but behind a Best Western motel that sits right on the main road. And trying to understand the sign directions when you're new to the area is a little confusing. But I really liked the parking area just because it was further back from the main road and very quiet for the hotel guests. The only complaint that I had about the room is that the water pressure in the shower seemed very low compared to what I'm used to, but I'm not sure if that was a temporary repair problem or a constant issue there.
