I purchased 8 fl oz of this jewelry cleaner a while back and just got around to using it. I have several pieces of silver jewelry that I hadn't worn in a while, and in that time they became really tarnished. So I decided it was time to whip out the Connoisseurs Silver Jewelry Cleaner and give it a try.
I wasn't really expecting much to happen, but was I impressed! The jar of cleaner consists of the cleaning fluid and a dip tray with a long handle. All I had to do was drop the piece of jewelry in the dip tray and leave in the solution for 10 seconds. You are not to soak the jewelry for more than 10 seconds. This is strong stuff and has a chemical in it which is known in the State of California to cause cancer, so you must be careful when using it.
I was very impressed at how well it cleaned my jewelry. Ten seconds is all it took, and my jewelry came out of the solution looking brilliant, just as if it were brand new. If one cleaning is not enough to do the job (it was for me), you are instructed to wait five minutes and then soak the jewelry again for another ten seconds, no more. After cleaning, rinse the jewelry well and wipe with a lint-free cloth.
This jewelry cleaner is highly effective. I don't like using chemicals, but I must admit that this cleaner definitely does the job. Just be careful when using and wash hands thoroughly afterward. Also, it does not smell good at all, especially during the ten seconds that the solution is cleaning a piece of jewelry.
Overall, this is a great cleaner and does a fantastic job of making tarnished silver jewelry look brilliant. Just be careful when using.
