This is a cool idea for a book, however I have to be brutally honest. This book bored the life out of me almost instantly.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is a book that was written by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame Smith. It is essentially Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen with a little zombie mayhem added in by Seth Grahame Smith.

I was intrigued by this book because of the cover and the cool concept, however after reading half of the first page I felt like falling asleep. It was an effort to continue with the page, I got the impression that Seth Grahame Smith decided to take the stuffiest and most boring book possible and add a little zombie action to it. I enjoyed the zombie parts, however to be honest, no offense Jane Austen, but the Pride and Prejudice parts of the book were horrible, boring and stuffy. Also, the zombie parts were not frequent enough to hold my interest.

I felt like I was in the middle of an inside joke reading this book. It was not a pleasant feeling.

My husband said he wanted to give the book a shot after I gave up on it, sadly I was not even a quarter of the way thru the book when I called it quits.

My husband also could not "suffer" his way to the end of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, he said he also felt like he was reading a private joke and it was not a fun experience.

I do give the book kudos for the concept, it is a very neat idea to spice up a book that so many people would understandably consider to be dreadfully dull, however I just could not get into it enough to see it to the end, which is unusual for me.

Maybe if you have read Pride and Prejudice and immensely enjoyed the story you might like the twist offered to the book by Seth Grahame Smith.

The cover art is awesome, but I must admit, I am so glad I did not purchase this one, I felt wonderful about returning it to my local library for someone else to borrow!
