I was having some itchiness from insect bites last summer and didn't like the idea of tearing my skin apart with scratching. I bought Cortaid 1% hydrocortisone anti-itch spray in the intensive therapy formula. I found that it really did help with the itching. It brought relief and did not give me any side effects.

Cortaid is good for seborrheic dermatitis, poison ivy, oak and sumac, insect bites, soaps and detergents, cosmetics and jewelry. It can be used for up to 3 or 4 times daily, no more than that. The relief that it gives is fast and very cooling. I bought it in a spray bottle which makes it very easy to apply. It is also a small bottle that would be easy to carry in a pocket or purse if you were traveling and wanted to take it with you. There are warnings on the back of the bottle which should always be heeded, as with anything of this nature.

I have found it to be very effective. It relieved the itching I experienced from those insect bites, and it kept me from damaging my skin.
