I love this magazine and wish these special interest issues from Better Homes and Gardens came out more often. I have gone through this 2009 Spring Country Garden issue more than a few times and I keep getting more ideas and inspiration about how I want our gardens to look this summer. I can only dream our yard will look half as beautiful as the pictures I keep looking at.
I'm not a formal garden person. I like the country look, old and new, plus low maintenance flowers that come up all spring, summer and fall. There's something for every gardener in this issue, whether you are a weekend gardener or keep your better half working at it full time.
Want to know what color combinations of flowers to use? Do you like the shabby chic garden look? Do you need help finding out which flowers to buy and grow in your area of the country? Do you collect birdhouses and need ideas on how to incorporate them in your yard? Look no further as you'll find great articles on all these subjects in this issue. There's even a recipe section using vegetables from your garden.
Whether you want to plant a Victorian garden or a Cottage garden, you'll find everything you need from which annual or perennial flowers to plant and use, to where and what order to plant them.
These special country garden issues are seasonal and come out 4 times a year - fall, early spring, spring and summer. You can buy them on the newsstand or get a subscription.
I think I'll be keeping my DH busy again this spring thanks to Better Homes and Gardens. Each special issue is sure to include something I will use and incorporate into our flower garden. I recommend you pick up this issue while it's still on the newsstands......happy planting!
