Courting Disaster is another mystery in the Angie Amalfi series written by Joanne Pence. I have found all of the books in this series that I have read so far to be entertaining and enjoyable to read, as I did this one.

Angie's mother is planning an engagement party for her and fiance, Paavo Smith. Throughout the book, Angie tries desperately to find out where her mother is planning to have the party, as it is all to be a surprise. I did find it a little annoying that our heroine had to be so consumed with finding the location of the party, instead of just being thankful that her mother was throwing her a party and trusting that her mom would pick a nice place. Well, anyway, there are some funny moments in the book because of Angie's search for the location of the party. Also, Angie's neighbor, Stan, befriends a pregnant girl who happens to be working at a restaurant that he frequents, and there are problems that arise out of this friendship. And, of course, there is always a murder.

All in all, the book was good, and I have all 333 pages in paperback. At the end of the book are some recipes and a few excerpts from other Angie Amalfi mysteries. Angie definitely is a character that keeps the story funny and interesting.
