CoverGirl NatureLuxe Gloss Balm Grenache

As a BzzAgent, I had an opportunity to try a couple of CoverGirl's new NatureLuxe products. My bzzkit contained one full size (1 fl. oz.) tube of NatureLuxe Silk Foundation in Chamois (color #330) and one full size (.067 oz.) tube of NatureLuxe Gloss Balm in Grenache (color #235). I am reviewing the lip gloss only, as I was unable to use the foundation.

When taking the survey to sign up for the NatureLuxe BzzCampaign, I was given a choice of three colors. All three colors looked pinkish to me, so I chose the darkest of the three, thinking they were lip gloss colors. After making my selection, I clicked NEXT only to be given three more color options. Realizing that these were the lip gloss color options, I tried going BACK to change my foundation color selection, but that was not an option. Alas, I was stuck with the darkest of the three foundation colors. I don't recall what the lighter two color options were, but I'm not sure even the lightest of the two given choices would have been a close enough match to my alabaster skin for me to have been able to wear it.

Regretfully, the chamois color was far too dark for my skin tone but, not wanting to waste an entire bottle of foundation, I had my best friend give it to a coworker. She didn't give much feedback (my best friend is male, so perhaps she was uncomfortable talking make-up with him) other than to say that she liked it. I was really looking forward to trying the foundation and, if I ever get around to purchasing a tube of it for myself, I will be sure and add an update here.

Fortunately, I was able to use the CoverGirl NatureLuxe Gloss Balm, and it is a product I would definitely buy. The product promises "sheer color with a hint of shine" with the "lightweight feel of a balm." It doesn't seem shiny at all to me, but I'm used to wearing glosses with a high shine factor, so maybe that's why.

It does deliver on everything else. The color is sheer, not heavy like a lipstick, and it can be applied quickly and easily, without using a mirror. The coverage is lightweight; CoverGirl NatureLuxe Gloss Balm does not make lips feel sticky or gooey. Best of all, it does feel like a balm; it soothes delicate lips and makes them feel smooth and hydrated.

Another nice thing about CoverGirl NatureLuxe Gloss Balm is that it contains SPF 15. The sun protection factor, together with the lightweight feel and coverage, makes this balm ideal for daytime wear. Also, the grenache color is natural looking and universally flattering.

NatureLuxe Gloss Balm doesn't need to be reapplied frequently. However, it's not a product that's designed to stay on through meals, excessive sweating, water sports, marathon kissing contests, etc., so it does need to be reapplied every so often. Fortunately, it's very portable and will fit in a pocket, if you don't like to carry a purse.

I will definitely be purchasing NatureLuxe Gloss Balm in different shades. It can be purchased at drug stores, Wal-Mart, supermarkets, etc. for $5.00 to $7.00 per tube. Currently, it is available in 16 different colors.
