This book is so good! I would consider it a fiction book because not all of it is true, but the author wrote it about her daughter. The whole book, from beginning to end, keeps you on your feet. The main character goes through a lot of struggles and it is the story of how she survives. Your heart will beat fast the entire time just trying to hope that she turns out okay. The author, Ellen Hopkins, writes in such a way that I have not seen any author write that way before. She often writes by making her paragraphs look like different shapes and sometimes letters. Also, sometimes the last words before going to the next line make their own sentence too. This book is easy to read and will make many people enjoy reading! The only negative thing I would have to say about the book is that I personally don't think it's suitable for children under 13 due to drug references and sexual content. Other than that it is a story of how many kids lives are and it is a good way to understand what it is occurring in others lives and how to keep yourself out of trouble.
