Before I had kids, I thought that a crayon was a crayon. This is not the case. My son has had several brands of crayons, including some from dollar stores and some from retail stores and we keep going back to Crayola.
The cheaper crayons seem to be harder and color lighter or leave clumps where you have colored. Crayola brand crayons leave a vibrant color in their path, smooth and even with no clumps. Yes, they might cost more than the other brands but in this case you do get what you pay for. It's true, most kids might not care one bit about the quality of their crayons, but when I color with him it does bother me.
Sure, they break just as easily... and my daughter can eat them just as easily... but for their intended use of coloring, Crayola is the best! It might seem silly to write a review on such a basic item, but I just had to share my delight with this brand.
