Crest has made an addition to their line of white strips; 3D White. I received a sample of the 3D white in the mail from Wal-Mart and was far from impressed by the product. The 3D white strips retail for around $20. Before I purchases them I wanted to try them out and Wal-Mart.com had a promotion for a free sample. I signed up for the sample and recently received them in the mail. After only one use I decided they were not a product I would waste my money on. The application was fairly simple but the removal was far from it.
The whitening process takes a mere 30 minutes with the strips on your teeth. It is as simple as removing the strips from their backing and placing them over your teeth. The 3D White strips are longer and wider than the traditional white strips to cover more of your teeth. They were pretty sticky and once they were on your teeth they were there to stay. You have to be sure you are placing them perfectly on your first attempt because you will not have a second one. With their length, it is harder to place them so they are on the center of your teeth. The strips wrap all the way around to the backs of your teeth to whiten them too.
I found them to irritate my gums and made it kind of hard to talk. I have used the traditional whitestrips before and they too are awkward but not as awkward as the 3D strips. It was hard to leave them on for the entire 30 minutes due to the gum irriation.
When I tried to remove them, they were stuck on my teeth. I ended up having to use a pair of tweezers to scrap them off my teeth until I could get enough off to pull them off. They left behind and excessive amount of gel residue that I could not get off my teeth by simply rinsing. I had to brush my teeth to get the gel off them completely. You do not want to leave the strips on for more than the recommended 30 minutes because they can cause damage to the teeth. You also need to be sure you get all the gel residue off your teeth for the same reason, it can damage the teeth if left on.
