Ok, so for a long time after they came out, I thought Crocs were the most absurd, ugly looking shoes on the planet. But I kept reading about the hype and their cult-like following. On our trip to Disney World in Florida, I went to Dick's Sporting Goods in the Orlando Mall. I broke down and bought my first pair, as I was looking for a comfortable shoe in which to do an insane amount of walking in while we were at Disney World. I also bought my son a pair. Since this was before they came out with all the additional styles they have now, my choices were somewhat limited. I chose a white pair of the Beach style Crocs for myself.
At first they felt pretty funny on my feet, they almost felt to loose. Within the first day, they began to feel so comfortable that it was like walking on air. They are so lightweight. I usually get very sore feet after doing a lot of walking, but after 6 days solid of walking around Disney, I felt no pain and had no blisters. I actually forgot that I was wearing shoes at all sometimes. My son also never complained once about his feet. The Florida heat was relentless, and usually my feet get pretty funky smelling in any sandals, but not at all in these. I didn't care that they maybe looked a little silly. I wasn't trying to make a fashion statement, and besides, I saw an awful lot of other people wearing them. I still have my original pair and love them. I have since bought 2 more pairs, and they have so many more fun styles out that I would like to try.
