CrossRoads newest in-ear headphones offer a better sound experience than their previous headphones. Falling into the mid-price range, the X3i makes a nice set of headphones for anyone looking for a good sound experience.
The earphones come with several different ear attachments, making it easier to find a size to fit your ears. The standard attachments are fairly large, though they do snap into the ear easily and stay in place.
The wire from the earbuds are plastic coated, making them slightly more stiff than other headphones. However, the plastic serves to block out 'wire-noise' - that is, noise that is caused by the wires being brushed or touched.
Sound quality is very nice. While the XBi brand are are more bass sensitive, the X3i offer a nice blend of treble and bass to make music sound smooth and complete. The bass report is nice, and will be satisfying for most genres of music.
The frequency sensitivity for these headphones are decent - they will work for nearly all music except, perhaps, the most intense forms of techno. Other files such as brainwaves, however, will likely require a more robust set of earphones, with better frequency sensitivity.
Overall, these earbud headphones are solid, and would make a nice compliment to more expensive mp3players and audio devices.
