I love the idea of a coffee maker which serves right into your cup rather than into a pot that you then have to remove to pour the coffee into your cup. No pot to clean, either. The retro design of the Cuisinart Coffee On Demand really caught my eye and I decided it was just what I needed.
I love how easy it is to use. I can program it ahead of time to start brewing my coffee so that it will be ready when I wake up. I then just press to dispense however much coffee I need to fill whatever size cup I choose to use. Some mornings require really big cups of coffee.
It has a big square removable grounds basket inside which holds a standard coffee filter so it doesn't need anything special. However, that basket has a half moon shaped handle which lays flat inside the unit and can be a bit hard to find at times and then it swings down when the basket is inverted and restricts the old filter and coffee grounds from falling freely into the trash can. This is really the only negative I have found at all, though.
I love the cute gauge that indicates how much coffee is left. The unit evens beeps to tell you that it is turning itself off if left idle for too long. My favorite feature is the fact that you can easily remove not only the basket but also the entire water resevoir for cleaning, unlike many other coffee makers.
