As someone who has very long, very thick, coarse, wavy hair I can't wash my hair more than twice a week or it becomes totally dry and umanageable. I've been using a shower cap 5+ times a week since I was a small child to keep my hair dry when taking a shower on non-hair washing days. Finding one that is durable and that fits well isn't as easy of a task as you might think. I can't even begin to come up with a number of how many shower caps I've gone through in my lifetime and I've never found one I've been completely happy with, until now.

Most shower caps that I've come across are thin, which means they don't last a long time, the flimsy vinyl will usually end up ripping after a couple of months of use. If it's not the vinyl that rips first the elastic will give out causing the shower cap to no longer stay on your head properly, resulting in wet hair even with the cap on. I've also had a problem finding a shower cap that can actually hold all of my hair, I have a lot of it not to mention my head isn't really the most petite either.

When I saw that Avon had this new shower cap I was actually in the market for a new one. At 1.99 I figured it was worth a shot since it looked pretty durable in it's picture. It's really cute too, which is something that never mattered much, I just want something to keep my hair dry, but it's a nice plus. The first thing I noticed when I got it is how roomy the body of the cap is, all of my hair fits comfortably inside with room to spare. The cap is made from PVC so it is very strong and water tight, I don't think it will be ripping on me anytime soon. The elastic is awesome too, it is about 1/2" wide and it fits very snuggly on the head making sure that no water is getting in there. This seems like a very strong elactic band, it's not scrunchy, thin elastic sewn into the cap like most shower caps I've used.

After I used it for about a week I was so in love with it that I actually went ahead and bought another one so that when this one actually does konk out (and I think it will be awhile) I'll have another one to use.

If you use a shower cap consider this one when you need a replacement, it's the best one I've ever found!
