I don't know of a single parent or grandparent that hasn't played peek-a-boo with their baby. If you are a goof ball like me & my husband, then you were probably doing it when they were only a week old!
I got this as a gift for baby at my baby shower. I thought it was just a stuffed animal...but like all pregnant Mommies I "played" with the huge pile of gifts that we had received. As I was checking out this bear...it giggled at me! It was the cutest little baby giggle I had ever heard come out of a toy! So then I had to look at the box...well what do you know, it's called a Giggle Time Peek-A-Boo Bear!
This bear is soft and cuddly like a stuffed animal. He is brown/tan with 2 different colored ears and they both crinkle . He also has a cute little face ..very friendly..actually he's kind of goofy & silly looking but that just gives him some character! His face is all stitch work so no need to worry about eyes & ears falling off (or getting chewed off!) and becoming a choking hazard.
Peek-A-Boo Bear is about 14 inches tall and on his right paw there is a stitched musical note...sewn into the bear under this note is his on.off switch. When you press the switch to turn him on he giggles at you to let you know he is ready to play! He comes with a very brightly colored little blanket that attches by velcro to the right paw also. That way he can hold his own blankie! To play peek-a-boo you just cover the eyes with the blankie or your hands and he says "PEEK_A-BOO" and Giggles..a short music tune plays after that. The bottoms of this guys feet are also crinkley.
This is a very simple toy but my son LOVES IT!!! He laughs back at the giggles...and I am almost jealous at how many kisses this bear gets!!!My son is a little over 6 months old and this toy has been a riot! It's just another fun way to play peek-a-boo...I don't think that is a game that will ever go out of style for babies! My son occasionally, playing with it by himself (he attacks and climbs over it) has turned it on...this just adds enthusiasim to his drooling -bite attacks on the bear!
Peek-A-Boo Bear takes 3aaa batteries...they last a really long time...we still haven't had to change ours. As I said we got this as a gift however I seen this in Sears and I believe Walmart. This is made by Lamaze...I love Lamaze toys, they seem to have some grea, fun, and early learning toys!
Update On May 19, 2008: Ok...I just found the box for this toy and I goofed on the actual name of the product! If you are looking for this bear it will called the "HUG-A-BOO BEAR"
