This is a new product and I found no mention of deet in it. It has something called picaridin. This is actually a very effective alternative to deet. From the research that I have done I conclude that it actually blocks the insects ability to locate you. It was at home depot and I had actually been looking for a different product to repel misquitoes but everywhere was out of what I was looking for. It does say that it is odorless on the can but I do detect a smell but only when I put in on at first. So I would call it nearly odorless. The smell leaves very quickly. I have used other sprays for similar use and I really hate to put stuff on my skin like this but this one has a very light or small footprint so to speak. (It does not feel bad on me at all.) It comes in a six ounce spray can and I thought for 4.27 it was ot a bad buy at all. This is going to be a big misquitoe season because of all the rain we have had here in the Northeast not to mention the decrease in the bat population which our responsible for eating many of them. I did notice that they mentioned on the can not to get it in your eyes or near the area. So far I have found it to be really effective as I catch up on some yard work that I need to do. Not a bad product at a reasonable price.
