The DWA-130 D-link N network adapter is a small device that searches and connects you to networks around your community (provided there is an available router for you to connect to). It works very well and because it is N the reception is greater than G as long as the router does not use certain types of encryption such as WEP as this limits the adapter to G speeds. The software the adapter comes with is easy to use and you can find updates at dlink.com for the adapter drivers. Lets talk more about speed. With this adapter (and an N router) I was downloading at 1MB per second (I was the only one using the connection at the time). That means I can get 1GB of data in little over a minute. I was impressed. As far as reliability N routers and adapters still might have problems playing some games such as World of Warcraft especially if you don't keep the drivers up to date. The range of the adapter is pretty good too. I am about 15 feet away from my router with a wall in between and I still pick it up great. Now reliability; the adapter itself works very well but sometimes I find I have to reinstall the drivers when I unplug it from my computer via USB. I don't know why but it doesn't take long to reinstall and it works fine afterwards. Another thing is the adapter is very small and if you step on it it would be a very sad way to lose $70. Keep it in a safe place and everything should be great. If you have a desktop without a network card built in I reccomend this D-Link N adapter even if you only have a G router.
