Carolyn Hart has written a series of mysteries called the Death on Demand Mysteries. I have just finished reading Dare to Die, a very well-written novel that kept me guessing until the end.

Annie Darling owns a quaint bookstore called Death on Demand. It is located in Broward's Rock, an island off of the South Carolina coast, where she and her husband, Max, live. A stranger comes to town and everything changes in Broward's Rock upon her arrival. This young lady, Iris, fled from the island ten years ago, after the mysterious deaths of two of her classmates. Now it seems that she has returned to set things right, only that doesn't happen because she ends up murdered. Annie is sickened by this because Iris' death occurs during a party that Annie invited her to, and now she is determined to find out who killed her. What makes matters even worse is the fact that the murderer is one of Annie and Max's friends.

This was a very enjoyable book. It didn't take me long to read its 292 pages, because I found myself eager to see what was going to happen next. I have read a number of the Death on Demand mysteries, and whenever a new one comes out, such as this one, I make certain that I read it too.

If you enjoy a good mystery, try one of Carolyn Hart's Death on Demand books. Dare to Die is one you definitely should not miss.
