This book is targeted towards single women or those who get tired of waiting for their men to fix things. My former husband had no clue when it came to fixing anything around the house and I was tired of paying repairmen for things I knew we could do with some guidance.
The day after the book arrived, I was home alone while my husband was on a business trip overseas. So, what do I do? I drop a diamond earring in the sink and as you can guess, it went down the drain. I knew enough to NOT turn on the water and that the drain pipe had to come out. But I wasn't entirely sure how to do it. I remembered the new book and grabbed it, hoping for instructions. Yippee! There it was and I was on my way to saving my earring.
Plumbing was my chapter of choice that night, but it also has chapters on electricity, major appliances, windows, walls and doors, plus safety. It also gives advice on how to find a contractor. It's well written, has illustrations and is easy to understand. In my case, it paid for itself within a day, so imagine what it could do over many years? I love this book and would recommend it to anyone who is tired of paying others to do things they might be able to do on their own.
