Dark Fever, by Karen Marie Moning is a book about MacKayla Lane, a southern girl, who leads a simple happy life...that is until she receives a cryptic dying message from her sister Alina. Her sister, who was studying abroad in Ireland was brutally murdered and the police have closed the case due to lack of evidence. MacKayla can't accept that nothing else can be done to catch her sister's murderer, so in an attempt to get more information, she packs up and goes to Ireland to do some investigating on her own. Very quickly, MacKayla gets herself pulled into a world of mystery and intrigue where things are not always as they seem. She learns things about herself that she never knew and she finds that those things are going to put her in a race against time, not only to find her sister's murderer, but also to keep herself alive.

For anyone who loves a good paranormal mystery/thriller, then Darkfever is the book for you. This book is a wonderful fantasy novel and it gives a great contract between the paranormal and modern day. Darkfever is very detailed and it allows you to visualize creatures that only exist in mythology or horror.

This book has a very sensual and erotic feel to it as you read about the interactions with Jericho Barrons, a man that is seemingly helping Mac stay alive and learn more about herself. Also, with her interactions with V'lane, prince of the Fae, a death-by sex Fae that Mac isn't sure can be trusted or not.
