Davies Gate makes some of the best bath and body products made in the U.S. The soothing Shower Gel and moisturizing Body Glow are no exception to that, and I love both.
My favorite fragrance in the Davies Gate line was Cinnamon; sadly, they've discontinued it, but I'm hoping they'll bring it back. Most recently I purchased the soothing Shower Gel and Body Glow in Sweet Orange, a wonderful scent that smells like a navel orange you've just peeled. The shower gel isn't called soothing because of the aroma (although that too is soothing), but because of how it gently cleans your skin and leaves it feeling soft and slightly moisturized. The 8.5 ounce bottle ($18) combines the essence of fresh orange with mango, passionfruit, and guava, and includes skin softening sunflower seed oil and aloe leaf juice, plus extracts of cinnamon bark, peppermint leaf, chamomile flower, and more. It makes a satisfying lather that cleans and leaves a faint scent behind.
Davies Gate Moisturizing Body Glow is a thick moisturizing cream that leaves your skin with a healthful glow. It has the same scent from the same natural ingredients as the shower gel, and also includes aloe, glycerin, shea butter, and other natural moisturizing ingredients (also called humectants). The 8 ounce jar retails for $20, and both the Body Glow and Soothing Shower Gel can be found at Bath and Body Works "Flagship" stores, like the one in Mall of America, and on their website. My little secret: they can usually be found at half the retail price on eBay, and sometimes at TJ Maxx. The $38 total retail brings my rating down to under 5, but if you can find it a lower price, it's worth every penny.
