Deborah Norville's The Power of Respect: Benefit From the Most Forgotten Element of Success was a smash hit in my opinion. Her approach to educating others about how powerful a force that respect is was simply amazing. The entire book is compiled of short 1-2 pages stories of how celebrities like Oprah and even common people in the work force have used respect to build their business and make a name for themselves. These stories give the reader the details of how small changes in every day life have made a huge impact on everyone around that person. The people she introduces you to along the way really give you a sense that even you can command more respect in your work place and even just life itself with the simple institution of being respectful to all those around you. It really surprised me out how the outcomes in each different story were so different yet so impactful to a lot of people. Even very small changes ended up creating wonderful workplace environments and an overall happy employee base that enjoyed working with each other on a daily basis. To date this book is a unique approach to something that many author's have tried to show readers in the past. I would defintely recommend this book to anyone who wants to strive towards a happier workplace and a happier life.
