My husband got me the Chef Deluxe Miracle Edge Kitchen Knife Set since I had been complaining about needing a new paring knife. When I opened up the box and saw all these knives, well I thought I was in heaven! I firmly believe that you need good cooking utensils in the kitchen. Of course, I didn't need all of those knives but who cares about need? Besides, my husband was of the mind that we wouldn't have to buy more knives for a while, so this was kind of like an investment. He wouldn't let me have the cleaver, though. He was worried (well, scared was the word he used!) that I would cut off one or all of my fingers with the meat cleaver and since I am extremely clumsy, I agreed to not throw a fit over it.

Here's what was on the front of the box: 21 piece kitchen cutlery set- double sharp edge never needs sharpening, set includes: 1 butcher's knife, 1 cleaver, 1 filet knife, 1 utility knife, 1 tomato knife, 1 boning knife, 1 chef's knife, 1 ham/bread slicer, 3 paring knives, 1 utility scissors, 1 large kitchen utility knife and 8 steak knives. Limited Lifetime Warrenty, Dishwasher Safe, Surgical Steel Blades.

I couldn't wait to use them! The first time I used one of my new knives was to cut up chicken leg quarters. I used the butcher's knife and was surprised and happy at how good it cut through the bones. Too bad my joy didn't last. The very next day, I pulled out the butcher's knife for another job and it didn't cut half as good. It was at that moment I began to suspect that the double sharp edge that never needs sharpening was a lie!

I tried every knife in the set and at least half of them wouldn't even do the job the first time around. I was so disappointed! It was like part of their blades had never been sharp to begin with! I kept them because I hate to throw money away and my husband had given them to me. Besides, you never know. I might give them to my sister the next time she does something extremely annoying to me!

Frost Cutlery had always been a name that I'd heard good things about. We got some pocket knives at the same time and their blades are of excellent quality. I don't know why their kitchen knives are of such poor quality but I know I won't be buying anymore from them.
