My husband's recent bout with a severe toe infection and subsequent amputation gave me quite a lesson on wound care. Before his toe was amputated, he had a visiting nurse come to the house daily to dress his wound.
I noticed some of the products that she used, one of which was Dermacea gauze wrap in a 6 ply fluff roll. After cleaning and dressing the wound, the nurse would wrap my husband's entire foot with this gauze, and it did a great job of covering and protecting his wound and foot. Unfortunately, the infection had traveled into the bone of the toe, resulting in its subsequent amputation. But this gauze wrap was a great way to cover the entire area and keep it sterile.
The roll that the nurse used was 4.5 in x 4.1 yard, and one roll was sufficient to wrap his entire foot and ankle so that the dressing and gauze would be secure and not come off in bed during the night.
I thought this gauze was pretty neat, and I was impressed with how soft and comfortable it was on my husband's skin. A good product for wound care.
