I got this book from my church. It's Devotions for Couples by Patrick Morley. It was written for busy couples who want more intimacy in their relationships. When I read that I thought...wow, if that doesn't describe me and my husband along with almost every other couple I know...what does? This book basicly asks you "Is your marriage the one you pictured when you said "I do"? It really causes you to examine your relationship and invites you to come together and let God's Word do some searching, encouraging and strengthening of your hearts...and your marriage. The book has 120 devotions which is great to me because I hate feeling like a devotion book ends as soon as it begins. By reading this book with my husband it really helped us to apply biblical truths to deepen our relationship, communicate better, understand each other, learn about what pulls us apart and how to stay together, raise our children and share a future filled with faith, growth and appreciation of each other. The devotions are separated by chapters and each chapter has at least 13 devotions. Part One is called Deepening our Relationship with Each Other, Part Two is The Delicate Art of Communication, Part Three is Understanding Each Other, Part Four is What Pulls Us Apart, Part Five is Staying Together, Part Six is Our Children and Part Seven is Our Future Together. As we all know, marriage can be both lots of fun and at the same time, very frustrating. Mine and my husband's marriage has had its share of ups and downs, but I have seen God produce huge changes in our relationship as we have both surrendered our wills to Him and worked at the principles contained in Devotions for Couples.
