I bought Diablo II years ago when it was new, and it was just about the best game I have ever had, being a PC gamer. There is no matching this game in the free Multiplayer RPG category. It has beautiful graphics for the time period it was created, and the expansion really delivers plenty of new features including character classes and a whole extra Act to the game. I absolutely fell in love with the co-op multiplayer online system over Battle.net, it is everything a gamer could hope for and more. There is a unique trading system, many quests and difficulties to play, and chat rooms for interacting with friends. Also, as with most games playable online, there is a friends list with many options of how to message and check up on what your friends are doing. Playing with a party in Diablo II is one of the most fun things I have done in a PC game to date. For each new member of your party, the monsters in the world of D2 get stronger, so it won't be too easy for you. If you are looking for an MMORPG that is free to play online and you are looking for anything I have mentioned here, then I would suggest buying both Diablo II and the expansion. The best deal you can get is in the Diablo Battle Chest from Blizzard, as it is 30-40 dollars for Diablo I, II, the expansion, and a strategy guide. The only thing I disliked about the game was the placing of the CD keys when you buy the game. They are on small CD slips that the game's discs come in, which are easily lost, making it impossible to reinstall the game unless you find a new key. Other than that, the game is definitely worth it, just make sure you write down your CD Keys somewhere safe so they do not get lost.
