Dish Network has a great option when it comes to the dish that actually sits on top of your home. It is the dish 500. We have had dish network as a satellite provider for many years now and have recently upgraded to the dish 500. It is a great new dish that can aim in multiple directions. I use to have two dishes on top of my home but know can get the same channels with only one dish. The dish 500 can give you up to 500 channels with this one dish. That is where the dish 500 name comes from. It is also a rather small dish so it is not an eye sore. You can hardly notice the dish on the top of my home. It is very dependable and I rarely loose satellite reception. The only odd thing about this new dish is that I will occasionally loose part of my channels while the others are still going. This only occurs when there is a bad storm coming in. The weird thing is that the local channels and PBS stations will still be up and running but I may loose the cable tv channels. Other times I will loose the Local and PBS channels but still have the cable channels up and running. This will all depend on the direction of the storms track and the time that the channels are down are usually only during the passing of the storm. It will quickly come back up. I have never lost satellite due to any other reason so I feel that they are very dependable. I would highly recommend Dish network Satellite 500 to any dish network user and to those looking to become a dish network user.
