Disney character shaped pens are items that are sold exclusively at Disney theme parks.. Yeah, yeah, and probably Ebay… ;-)
The pens are great for personal use or gifts as they are only $4.95 each and are just so adorable!
The outer shell of the pen is colored and molded plastic. The lower part of the pen is a straight tube and the plastic looks like it is stretched and pinched at the top of the “neck” and then flattened and formed into the head of the Disney Character. It is all one piece and somewhat resembles blown glass.
Some of the pens have accessories, like Minnies fabric bow or the elastic colored collar and ears on Pluto. The Pluto is my favorite… I like to flip his ears while I am thinking in between writing…
The ink inside the pens are not changeable. Once the ink is gone, its gone… but it lasts quite a long time. I had one Pluto pen last me for just over two years. I didn’t write with it frequently, but the ink never dried up, the pen never skipped on the paper, just a really nice flow from the first day until it died… Then the pen is still very decorative.
Each pen comes with a little pen cover on the bottom, but the cover has a hole in the bottom and is really just to keep the pen from marking up the bottom of their storage place. I lost my pen cap for my Pluto and it wasn’t a big deal.
Each of the pens that I have have the script “Walt Disney World” on them. They are also one of the few items that I have found in Disney that are made in the USA.
