I've had this product for so long. I'd say around 6 years at least. My mom bought me this as a present. There were 2 in a package. I remember that it cost around $12 and was bought at Bed, Bath and Beyond. Basically, it's this terry cloth hood. There is an elastic on it that you loop the tail of the turban through so that the whole thing stays on your head. In the past, I used to do the whole "twist up a towel on your head" thing, but that got really heavy on my neck and on my head. That was my mom's reason for buying me this and I've totally stuck with it too. Sometimes I'll get "gimmicky" gifts for their novelty, try them a couple of times and then just go back to the old way of doing things, but not so with this. In the set I got, there was a white and a light blue Turbie Twist. These are touted to be "super absorbent." I'm going to have to disagree on this one. After my shower, I squeeze excess water out of my hair. I put on my Turbie, but after a while, I realize I'm sitting there with a seriously damp head of hair. When I take off the Turbie, the turban itself is always super wet, but it doesn't leave my hair dry or nearly dry. It definitely leaves everything wet and slick, and it seems to keep the dampness in. What I do next is take it off, hang it up for next time and then, I let my hair air-dry with nothing on it. I wish the turban dried my hair better, but I think it absorbs some water, and it's better than having a huge towel heaped up on my head.
