Dolly Parton's album "Treasures" is a definite treasure. A country music legend that has the perfect touch where each album is a glorious success. This album is no different. Dolly takes eleven memorable hit songs and adds her passion, finesse, and amazing vocal talents to turn them into a greater success. Track list includes:
"Peace Train" "Today I Started Loving You Again" "Just When I Needed You Most" "Something's Burning" "Before the Next Teardrop Falls" "After the Gold Rush" "Walking on Sunshine" "Behind Closed Doors" "Don't Let Me Cross Over" "Satin Sheets" "For the Good Times" Even though this is pretty much a collection of cover songs, Dolly has a way of making each and every song her own. "Peace Train" opens the album and I think that this is a really unique and interesting twist to the Cat Stevens song. Aside from the loved song "Satin Sheets", "Peace Train" is a great favorite of mine.
Dolly has a way of picking the most powerful and the most loving and heartwarming songs for all of her albums and this one is by far at the top of that list of greatness.
Any and all Dolly fans have to have this album. Many radio stations have been focusing on the new comers and not so much on what made country music what it is today, and that is one reason why "Treasures" should be treasured and kept close to your heart.
I purchased this album at FYE for $8.
