This third solo record from the former Eagles is an amazing album. The songs are fantastic, the production is pristine, and Don Henley's voice is in fine form throughout. I highly enjoy and recommend this disc.

The title track was a huge hit when released. While I do like the song, I feel it is far from the best of the bunch here. The beautiful ballad The Heart of the Matter is probably my favorite song here. It's a more emotive song for me, and I feel it leaves itself more open to personal interpretation than the title track does.

The beautiful ballad The Last Worthless Evening is another great song here and another huge hit off the album. Listening to this song just really takes me back to past relationships and I really connect to the song and his passionate vocals.

But it is not all mellow ballads on the album. The song I Will Not Go Quietly rocks out and features vocal assistant from Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses. How Bad do You Want It is equally energetic. New York Minute is another great mellow song which is also featured on the Eagles Hell Freezes Over live album.

This is the best Don Henley out there. It's just great and I would encourage anyone and everyone to give it a listen.
