This is my son's current favorite game. Don't Break the Ice is a game that contains a square frame, and "ice cubes" that are plastic blocks that fit into place. There is a red figure that sits on one of the ice cubes, and each player takes turns using a plastic mallet to knock down one of the ice cubes. The person who knocks down the red figure loses the game.
I think the reason that my son likes this game is because he gets to use a mallet and hit things- and doesn't get in trouble for it! I like playing the game too- I feel that it is teaching him strategy, as he starts to learn which blocks will be more unstable as the game progresses. I like the fact that the game is different every time you play it, because it keeps my son from getting bored.
One thing I don't like is setting up the ice cubes every time you play. The blocks stay in the frame by tension from the sides, so it is a tight squeeze to put the blocks in, which is kind of a pain. So far the quality has held up well, though, so I am happy with this product.
