I admit that I am a bit obsessive compulsive, but I have 4 of these great clocks. One by my bed, one in the kitchen, one in my office, and one is packed in my travel kit.
They are simple to operate and completely reliable. I always get nervous if I am sleeping in a hotel room with a clock radio and I have an early plane to catch. There is no mistaking AM versus PM on this simple analog clock and you don't need to worry about funny settings - if the button is up, then the alarm is going to wake you up.
The clock hands have an adequate amount of luminous paint on them, and there are luminous dots at each hour indication mark. However, you can alway touch the button on the upper right side of the clock to illuminate the dial - this is a one hand operation. The same button which activates the light also triggers the snooze alarm function.
Since these clocks are so easy to set, I frequently use them as reminder times (to check the oven, to call somebody, etc.).
Although some people might be able to get by using their wristwatch as an alarm when they travel, I prefer to enjoy this little analog luxury.
They operate on a AA battery which lasts more than one year.
