My three year old loves Dora the Explorer. Everyday, she watches Dora the Explorer cartoons, play with Dora toys and wear Dora and Boots panties. I did say she loves Dora the Explorer! Her absolute favorite though, is her DVD of Dora Saves the Mermaids. We watch this cartoon on an average of 3 or 4 times a day, almost everyday. She knows most of it by heart and sings it’s songs all over the house.

Marianna the mermaid loses her magic crown, which is the only thing that keeps a mean old octopus from dumping garbage on the mermaid kingdom. The octopus starts dumping trash all over the place, which causes the mermaid kingdom to start disappearing.

Dora and Boots find the crown but when they give it back to Marianna, the octopus captures her in a fishing net. Marianna throws the crown to Dora and now it’s up to Dora and Boots to save the mermaid kingdom. Eventually, Dora is able to make the wish to get rid of all the garbage from the mermaid kingdom. She also has a chance to become a mermaid forever, but decides not to.

All in all, it’s a very good cartoon for a child who loves Dora the Explorer, like mine does. Plus, there are two other episodes of Dora the Explorer on the DVD: Fish Out Of Water and Treasure Island. When this DVD wears out, I will definitely have to buy another one!
